Selvi marries Prasath's father and decides to use her 'mother' status to take revenge on Prasath. Prasath invites Selvi to live with his father and his younger siblings. Selvi's life undergoes a drastic change overnight after a fire accident that leaves her sister's face permanently scarred. Prasath refuses to jump in to save Balaji. Balaji topples over by mistake when they reach the middle of the lake on a boat. Balaji invites Prasath to join him and Selvi for a picnic by the lake. Selvi realised Prasath's evil intentions but was unable to convince Balaji, who hero-worshipped Prasath. Prasath pretended to back Balaji's love for Selvi but secretly hoped to divide them.
